In my walk with Yeshua and by His grace alone, I have come to better understand the peace and assurance that comes with knowing in my heart that I have been truly forgiven. When Yahwh opens the eyes of your heart to understand the severity of your sin, it humbles you to have a heart like David, a broken and contrite spirit. The thirst of wanting to be right with Yahwh is resilient, and my gosh, how swift He wants to fill up that thirst. “Blessed are the poor in spirit…blessed are those who hunger and thirst…” Mathew 5

In a relationship, I am going to make all sorts of faults, but living a life trying to earn someone’s forgiveness for peace’s sake is not the way of life Yahwh had in mind.  It is not something to be earned but to receive as a free gift. The thirst of knowing whether or not your loved one has forgiven you, the desire for that peace, is in every human being. Personally, I cannot sleep sweetly knowing someone is upset at me, so I need to reconcile right then and there, I need to listen and talk. I remember one night one of my siblings’ was very upset at me, and I couldn’t go to sleep. I remember crying so much in bed, my mind and heart could not keep quiet. I then walked into the room next door and with tears falling down my face I beseeched them to “give me grace”. After that reconciliation, I was able to fall sound asleep.

Yahwh wants us to sleep sweetly in regards to our relationship with Him, so therefore, He kindly and wonderfully reminds us, over and over and over again throughout the Holy Bible. I can vividly imagine Yahwh saying with His mighty but affirming voice caressing my tear-filled cheeks “My beloved, stop trying to earn my forgiveness, I have given it to you freely, even before you asked for it. Please take it and walk in my ways.”  It makes me think of this bible verse “…he will quiet you by his love.. Zeph 3:17.

I pray that the Words of our King below speak to you tenderly and fill your heart with peace, assurance and gladness. I pray that it encourages you to walk by the Spirit and choose to obey His Word all the more. I pray that you have a sensitivity to sin and that you confess your sins to God and forsake them and to turn to Him as our Advocate, for He is faithful and gracious to forgive. I pray in Yeshua’s name, Amen.

A call to walk into His light: 

Psalms 32:1-6

1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
² Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

³ For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up^[b] as by the heat of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁶ Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him

1 John 1:6-10 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us”.

 1 John 2:1-6 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. ² He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. ³ And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. ⁴ Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, ⁵ but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: ⁶ whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
